Essilor Academy Europe, a subsidiary of Essilor International, is a centre of continuing education for opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists, orthoptists and all practice staff.

Our objective is to support eyecare professionals by delivering education that grows their skills, helping them to better manage presbyopic patients and prescribe progressive lenses, for the highest levels of patient satisfaction.

Founded in 1989 by Essilor International, today Essilor Academy Europe has delivered more than 500 education sessions, comprising 1000 training days and trained more than 10,000 eyecare professionals.

Essilor Academy Europe has a permanent team of 4 people and about 30 international lecturers, all of them partners of Essilor Academy Europe. Our educators are all experts in their fields with extensive experience and most of them are currently practising (see Training).

Essilor Academy Europe also undertakes a publishing function to support learning needs of practitioners and their staff. This includes publications like the Varilux Fitting Guide and the Ophthalmic Optics Files, and are available in a range of languages. (See Online Shopping).
