In October 1988 he joined Essilor Australia as Marketing Manager and launchedEssilor’s lab services and lens range throughout Australia and New Zealand.
From 1991 to 1998, he was a Product Manager for Progressive Lenses in the Strategic Marketing Department at Essilor International in Paris In 1998 Tim returned to Australia as Group Marketing Manager until taking up his current responsibilities in 2002.
As Director of Professional Services, Tim heads Varilux Academy Asia Pacific,bringing technical and marketing education to more than 3,000 practitioners a year andproviding educational materials to more than 70 Schools of optometry and optical colleges throughout Asia Pacific.
Tim served as both a State Councillor and State President of the OptometristsAssociation Australia, South Australian Division. He also holds a Post-GraduateCertificate in Business from American University in Paris.Tim has spoken on technical and marketing topics to optometrists and opticaldispensers in Australia, Austria, China, England, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, the Middle East, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden and the United States.
